The world's largest and most ferocious cat is in grave danger. Already three species of tigers have gone extinct and in some places of the world they number less than one hundred, where they used to rule the land. This article describes the remaining five subspecies and discusses how people that live near tigers are trying to adapt peacefully to their presence.
